Rigathi Gachagua has admitted that he is in bad shape, and that he is working to reduce weight. The second in command stated that he installed a gym 15 years ago but didn’t get the privilege to work out as he was busy taking care of his family.

He added that for the past few years, he wasn’t at peace, as his family had continously been followed, and his life felt threatened. Gachagua added that he is in a mission to reduce weight from the current 94kg.

He added that he had embarked on working out after finalising on campaigns. He stated that the onslaught that had been targeted at him by state agencies didn’t give him an opportunity to work out.

He stated, “I am in pretty bad shape, I built this home and set up this gym 15 years ago but before this State onslaught I used to come here every morning, but since the onslaught about four years ago I have not been here. I am in pretty bad shape. I have gained a lot of weight and it’s time for me to work out because when you work out your mind gets free and you think straight.”

He continued, “Going forward I will be back in this gym. I know many people have been raising questions about how I dress and I want to tell them I had no luxury to think about dressing. I was caring about my life, I was in danger and had to look over my shoulder to make sure that I live to take care of my family.” Gachagua spoke just before he left for the inauguration ceremony at Kasarani stadium.
