Kakamega second in command Mr. Ayub Savula claims that he shares power with Governor Fernandes Barasa. Savula claimed that the county government is divided into two parts, where the Governor rules one side, and him, (Ayub Savula) rules the other side.

Adding to his statement, Savula claimed that he is a co-governor and not a Deputy governor. Taking to his Twitter page, the Deputy Governor stated,

“Don’t let anyone lie to you that Savula returned to deputyship, we have divided the county government and the government of Kakamega into two. Barasa has taken half and Savula has taken half.

Constitutionally, Kakamega has ten ministries. Barasa amechukua ministries tano na mimi nimechukua tano. I am not a deputy governor, I am a co-governor.” Savula’s statement comes in line with his previous argument, where he claimed to have been threatened to back Azimio coalition.

He argued, “I have not mentioned it to anyone but today I will go public about it. It is the coercion from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) that forced me to support the Azimio coalition. They arrested me together with my two wives at night on fictitious charges.” He argued that he is ready to collaborate with DP Ruto after he is sworn in as president.
