Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua releases fertilizers to counties

new prices of fertilizers have been announced by the government.

The kenya kwanza government under the stewardship of William Ruto and his counterpart, Rigathi Gachagua has flaggged off consignment of fertilizers to various counties in the country. Kenyans will remember the presidents speech during his inaugration where he promised to ensure that the common mwananchi will have subsidies in the agriculture industry in a bid to ensure that farmers are not exploited. during his inaugration speeech, William Ruto stated that the price of fertilizers will be slashed by half, a move that has already began.

addressing members of the press in harambee house, Gachagua urged farmers to avail themselves at different National Cereals and Produce Depots to get the fertilzers.

,’I appeal to farmers in the regions that are receiving short rains to reach out to local National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) Depots and Sub-Depots to access the required fertilizer……..We are privy to all fertilizer requirements for the long rains season 2023, the government has commenced consultations with key actors and stakeholders to ensure quality affordable and accessible fertilizer that will be available to all farmers across the nation,’

the new prices of fertilizers have been announced as follows with a  DAP fertilizer retailing at ksh 3500, CAN 2875, Urea ksh  3500, NPK will retail at ksh 3275, MOP will sell at ksh 1775 while Sulphate Of Ammonia will retail at ksh  2220. Subsidies were removed by the government after Kenya Kwanza took power, a move that the government stated will help ease debts in the economical sector.
