Cramps affect many women before and when they are having periods. Well, some women only experience mild cramps. However, a larger group of women ain’t that lucky. Actually at times, this pain could be too much and even make you unable to carry on your daily routine. This article will help in understanding some steps you can follow to ease cramps pain.

Using a heated patch
Using a heat patch on your abdomen could help in relaxing the muscles of your uterus. These are the muscles that lead to period cramps. The heat will also help in circulation hence reducing any pain associated with your periods.

Massaging your tummy with some essential oils
Research studies have shown that use of essential oils in massaging your tummy will in all ways possible ease cramps. Oils that have been found to easen cramps include lavender, sage and cinnamon. However, prior to using essential oils, you’ ll need to mix them with carrier oil. The carrier oil will help the essential oils to reach a bigger section of your tummy.

Taking Pain relievers
There some OTC drugs that can be used to reduce period pain. However, nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs have been found to be the best in reducing this pain. However, the medication work best when taken during the first stage of your cramps. Before taking these drugs, kindly consult your doctor.

Exercise
Studies have suggested that exercises are important in lowering the intensity of cramps. You’ll notice that if you walk a few metres and back, you don’t experience as much pain as compared to when you are relaxed. When you do exercise regularly, your cramps won’t be that intense.

Do Yoga
Yoga is important in reducing period pain. A study done on women who participated in a 60- minute Yoga class once in every twelve weeks showed that the women’s period pain reduced significantly.
