  • Sauti Sol’s agenda is to educate the youth of their importance in leadership.
  • The series is a continuation of a song dubbed ‘Tujiangalie’ released in 2018.

Sauti Sol Band has announced that they will soon release a track that will motivate the Kenyan youth to vote in the upcoming polls. The track under their ongoing ‘Tujiangalie’ series will be an important track that will educate the youth on the importance of taking part in the voting exercise.

The series is titled after the band’s 2018 ‘Tujiangalie song which tackled some of the key social-political aspects such as debt, democracy, religion, social media and corruption.

The band’s legal advisor known as Moriasi Ombambia stated, “What we are trying to have here is to get young people to join the conversation about what is happening and how it will affect us. We have so much power but we are not utilizing it. We want to be the catalyst of conversations and then after that change comes.”

The Sauti Sol lead member Bien Aime stated that they will continue to educate the youth of their importance as the country prepares to elect new leadership.

Bien stated, “There was always a passion from Sauti Sol and the team to speak to the broader audience of the voter which are the youth. The amount of voter apathy that we are about to experience as a nation if we don’t wake up that morning to go to the ballot is going to be the highest ever.”

“To our fans I really hope the message of this song gets to you, you understand it and changes your perception. And as you go to vote remember don’t let the same snake bite you twice.”

This move comes as the country prepares to elect a new president in the August 9th General election. What are your thoughts on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
