Ruto Backs Uhuru’s Stand On The Election, Throws A Heavy Jab At Raila

by Jayden Musembi

Deputy President William Ruto has welcomed President Uhuru’s statement that he’s ready to hand over power to the candidate who will win in the upcoming General election. While addressing a campaign in Baringo County, the Deputy president stated that Uhuru’s clarification on his previous statement has ironed out their differences.

He stated, “Bwana rais, we had a problem with you when you were saying that you cannot hand over to William Ruto, now that you have accepted that whoever the people choose you’ll hand over to them, we are together.”

According to Ruto, he is happy that the President has agreed to leave office with the candidate who’ll lose in the presidential election. However, DP Ruto threw a jab at his closest opponent Raila Odinga, arguing that Uhuru will go home with Raila on his side.

Ruto stated, “You also said that the one who will be defeated you will go home with them. Utatusaidida yule mtu asing’oe reli na asilete fujo. Muende nyumbani na yeye huyo mtu wa kitendawili.” While adressing Kenyans during the commissioning of the Nairobi Expressway, Uhuru Kenyatta stated,

“I am doing my job, I finish, you go and ask for votes, if Kenyans vote for you it is okay, if they don’t we go home together where is the problem? The world will still go on.” The president argued that like any other Kenyan, he has the right to support whoever he wants. What are your thoughts on this story? Share your insights down below.
