Missing IEBC Official Who Disappeared While On Duty Found Dead

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission returning officer who went missing while on duty has been found dead in Oloitoktok Kajiado County. Daniel Mbolu Musyoka went missing on August 11 while on duty. Then, he was serving as the returning officer for Embakasi East before he disappeared.

Reports from the commission stated that Daniel excused himself to make a call, never to be found again. Directorate of Criminal Investigation officers have arrived at the scene to probe on the officer’s death.

Police officers who arrived at the scene stated that he seemed to have been tortured to death. On Monday evening, officers from Loitoktok, Kajiado Sub-County were alerted over the presence of a body of a middle-aged man in the forest.

IEBC reported that Mr. Musyoka was last seen at his work at the East Africa School of Aviation last week. Police say that his sisters Mary Mwilali and Ann Mboya were able to identify his body at Loitoktok Sub-County morgue.

The Oloitoktok police boss Kipruto Ruto stated, “His two sisters identified the body lying at Loitokntok sub county hospital last night.We are waiting communication from police headquarters either to ferry the body to city mortuary or to remain here.”

The police boss argued that the body had been reported early in the day on Monday at Kilombero forest. Police say that the area is known for dumping of bodies of people killed elsewhere.
