Kenyans took to the ballot yesterday to cast their votes in a bid to elect their desired leaders. Among the four Presidential hopefuls who include Agano’s David Mwaure , Roots party George Wajackoyah , Kenya Kwanza’s William Ruto and Azimio La Umoja coalition Raila Odinga, As per now results show it is a two horse race.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has received almost 92% of the Form 34 A’s from different polling stations. Raila Odinga cast his ballot in Kibera while his counterpart Marthe Karua cast hers at Kirinyaga. Surprisingly to many Kirinyaga people voted more for William Ruto with Martha Karua not garnering ever a third of the votes.
Raila Odinga and William Ruto are only waiting to see who will emerge the winner of the elections. This doesn’t come as a surprise as even opinion polls revealed the same . Azimio’s Deputy flag bearer took to Twitter to state that it is not yet done till it’s done. This is the first time she has spoken after casting her vote.
Kenyans have been urged to maintain peace as the results stream in. Gubernatorial results in some areas are already out from areas like Nakuru that has seen Susan Kihika claim victory. Moses Kuria has also lost in Kiambu County.
