Renowned Kenyan musician Mary Njoroge alias Marie J now claims that Tanzanian singer Rayvanny didn’t adhere to terms they set after she paid him for a collaboration. Marie J claimed that she spoke with the former Wasafi signee on WhatsApp and later on came up with an agreement that he (Rayvanny) would help Marie J elevate her music career profile.
She alleged that Rayvanny asked for money to seal the deal, but the singer would then disappear on thin air after he received the money.
Speaking to Pulse Newspaper, Marie J stated, “Rayvanny from Tanzania breached the agreement terms we had of working on a collaboration even after all the production costs were made. He requested that if I give him an amount of money he would help me to shine up all the way up within a short period of time so we agreed and I was sending money to him anytime he requested.”
Marie J argued that the song was to be released in 2020 if at all Rayvanny adhered to their agreement. She went ahead and argued that Rayvanny blocked her on all social media platforms, adding that some unfortunate circumstances happened.
Marie J is however hopeful that her dream of settling for a collaboration with the former Wasafi signee will yield fruits. She is optimistic that probably, his previous record label was the main cause of the failed deal, but since he has ditched his former employer, the singer might agree to work with her.
Marie J stated, “He was supposed to help me personally but since he has left his previous label it would be easier to work with him, so I hope for the best. Probably the problem was his label then.” What are your thoughts on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
