Hellen Wendy’s Dad Speaks For The First Time Following His Daughter’s Death

by Jayden Musembi

John Nyabuto, father to the Canadian-based Kenyan lady who drowned in a swimming pool while live streaming on Facebook has spoken for the first time since the incident happened. John expressed his sorrow and heartbreak following the passing away of his first born daughter.

He expressed his disappointment when it dawned to him that his daughter had died in a painful way. The father of six stated that he watched the video but all he could see was his daughter happy when she was swimming.

He stated, “I watched the clip from my phone. I saw it was my daughter swimming excitedly. I did not see anything unusual. She was just swimming, talking to the camera and she just looked very happy. However, I saw people writing sorrowful comments and I did not understand why they were saying had news, yet she was just swimming.”

However, reality hit him so bad when someone from Canada called and told him that his daughter had passed on. It was at that point when he couldn’t stop crying.

Hellen Wendy was a 24-year old nurse who was based in Canada. She had travelled there in 2018. According to her dad, she was the only hope to her family. Since she secured her job, she had been supportive to her family, and also, she was paying her own school fees for the course.

The father, John Nyabuto went ahead and urged well-wishers to assist him in bringing the body of her daughter back to Kenya. From us here at Plug Media, we would like to share our condolences with the family.
