The COTU Secretary General Mr Francis Atwoli has told the interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to order the arrest of the Deputy President following his consistent onslaught against the Jubilee Administration and other state officers. This comes after a section of Kenya Kwanza leaders stated that the recent initiative by the government to deploy more police officers in Rift Valley will bring more chaos than good.
However, while speaking at a Kisii rally, Mr Atwoli said that such remarks by the DP and his Kenya Kwanza team were getting out of hand hence the government might be provoked to take action against him. Mr Atwoli argued that such statements by the Deputy president were meant to intimidate police officers. He argued that the DP’s utterances against the deployment of police officers in the region were unacceptable.
Mr Atwoli stated that if Raila takes over, the welfare of the police would be improved. He added that every Kenyan has the right to vote for whoever they want, adding that the Azimio Government will create a healthy environment for businesses to thrive. The COTU Secretary General said that Kenya is for everyone, and any Kenyan can decide to travel or settle in any part of the country.
“Eldoret ya zamani ajue ni ya kila Mkenya. Iko na Wakisii, Waluhya, Wakikuyu…na Wakalenjin ni ndugu zetu. Ruto hana nchi yake, hii ni nchi yetu sisi wote. Let him respect the police, the police cannot issue papers to say other tribes to vacate a certain area.” What are your thoughts on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
