Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa alias Rayvanny will be leaving Tanzania’s record label Wasafi according to reports.
In the past two years they have been speculations that the popular bongo star will leave the Diamond owned label. Leaving is not easy as Rayvanny should raise 25 million as part of a 10 year contract agreement.
Rayvanny edited his Instagram bio editing out a mandatory tagline that is featured by all Wasafi’s artists. Of all Wasafi’s artists only his Instagram account lacks the tagline. A former Wasafi employee stated
,”I heard what Mwijaku said but the figure I’m so sure about is Sh25 million release clause. For a start Ray was asked to deposit Sh2.5 million before the negotiation can proceed further. I am not sure if he already did.” Mwemba Burton alias Mwijaku is a popular radio presenter under Clouds Fm in Tanzania.
It is understood that artistes signed under Wasafi are not allowed to discuss their contracts outside the label. Harmonize also left WCB in a rather unfashionable manner unlike Rayvanny who Diamond feels has handled the issue In a civil manner . Harmonize parted ways with WCB paying 29.7 million yet the release clause needed 25 million.
“ Diamond wouldn’t want such a scenario with Rayvanny and there is a possibility he would pay less than Sh25 million. From what I have heard, should the negotiation go well depending on what both parties settle on, Rayvanny may end up parting with about Sh14.8 million,” the source continued to explain.
Rayvanny is set to part ways with WCB as he has found a Zambian investor who is set to push Rayvanny’s next album this is to avoid a a fallout with Wasafi.
