Bongo singer Nandy is said to have hired renowned radio presenter Mwijaku to tarnish Zuchu’s reputation over an alcohol endorsement deal. This is after Nandy felt downgraded after Zuchu turned down a multi-dollar alcohol deal which was then given to her.
Zuchu declined the deal due to her faith and religion. In a leaked audio tape, Nandy was heard instructing presenter Mwijaku on how he was going to draft an attack on Zuchu via Instagram texts.
Nandy was heard saying, “Hapo Mwijaku kwenye, Kwamba walikuwa wasanii wangapi akiwemo Zuchu, andika hivi …hiyo itoe hiyo point, andika tu hakuna mtu atapewa dili la hela nyingi akatae, especially la pombe, isionekane hivyo maana watajua tumeongea details za ndani.”
While speaking to Wasafi media, Mwijaku stated that it was true Nandy offered him an amount totalling to ksh.91,543. He stated that he declined Nandy’s offer, adding that he chose not to do it because it didn’t align with who he is as a person.
Mwijaku stated, “Alitaka kunilipa shilling million moja na laki nane, kupost kwenye page yangu na alisema anitumia hela kwa Bank account yangu, lakini nikamwambia hapana, kama utanipa pesa kama kaka yako ni sawa lakini sio kunipa pesa nimzungumzie mtu.”
