According to EACC, the individuals changed the tender to benefit one individual and excluded the others. Evaline Chepkirui, Kineton Nelson, John Kiprono and Geoffrey Komen were arrested on Tuesday after EACC received solid report on the allegations.

In April 2018, the Chief Officer of Public works, roads and transport formed a Committee that was going to find a suitable bidder for the contract. Jemororan Construction Co. Limited was the company that was awarded the tender since it submitted the lowest bid of ksh. 97,421,980.

Jemororan was found to have drafted certificates so as to show their capability in completing the said contract. Reports from EACC stated that Jemororan managed to get certificates from the Nakuru County Government, Narok County Government, KeNHA and KeRRA.

The company was also not in the list of registered companies with National Construction Authority. EACC has also reported that three more officials are being looked for in relation with the case. In the past couple of weeks, EACC has intensified its search for corruption cartels prior to forming new governments in the upcoming General election.

However, even though the commission has continously enrolled individuals with corruption scandals, a few of them have been charged and jailed. What are your views on this story? Kindly share your insights down below.
