The Energy Petroleum Regulation Authority that was established succeeding the Energy Regulatory Committee has today ,14th June 2022 increased the prices of super petrol , Diesel and Kerosene will rise to sh 159.12,sh 140 and sh 127.94 per litre respectively effective midnight.
Kenyans will continue to witness the high livings costs like before. Just the other day motorists had to wait for long to get fuel even others having to postpone their journeys . The establishment of EPRC was hopeful that unlike the former EPR with it’s mandate of inter Alia regulation of upstream and coal.
EPRC roles include the following ; prescribe the requirements for accreditation of persons with appropriate skills to check accuracy of energy meters installed in residential, commercial or industrial premises; Impose sanctions and penalties on persons who are in breach of any of the provisions of the Act or any regulations made thereunder.
The latest increament doesn’t come as news as it’s something Kenyans have witnessed.
