Father’s day, is a day that people celebrate their fathers and father figures as well as men in their circles of life.
While father’s day doesn’t come with much excitement as opposed to mother’s day , it still a day that the society appreciates men .
Many ask why father’s day dates keeps on changing.
According to country living, father’s day is celebrated every third Sunday of June every year thus causing a change in the date.
When and how did Father’s day originate?
According to History.com , father’s day was established by a woman in 1909 as she tried to find the match for mother’s day.
Although it was not officially being celebrated in the past, in 1972 President Richard Nixon signed ‘Proclamation 4127, therefore declaring Father’s day a national holiday.
Many people still think men are under celebrated and there is not much excitement while celebrating father’s day like in celebrating mother’s day. In Kenya none of those two days is a public holiday. While many take to social media to appreciate their father figures, some choose to stay at home with them or even take them out .
