In a statement released by DCI via their Twitter page , the Directorate Of Criminal Investigations have denied the arrest of Johnson Sakaja the Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant.
The DCI said
,’ DCI has neither summoned nor arrested Hon.Sakaja. He brought himself in following fake reports that he is wanted by police and was subsequently turned away instantly. ‘
The DCI continued to add that Sakaja was escorted outside the main office block before hovering around the parking area as he appeared to make calls. Sakaja further requested to be shown a restroom and was lef to one near the gate.
“ once outside the gate , he again continued making calls only for the orderly sergeant to notice that he was buying time as media reporters gathered at the majestic entrance to DCI head quarters , setting up their tools of trade. At this point he was immediately shown out. ‘
The DCI warned Kenyans against fake news stating that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations operates under an established communication channel , urging Kenyans to be vigilant of news around social media .
Johnson Sakaja has been facing issues over his degree and academic qualifications in order to be cleared to run for the Nairobi Gubernatorial Seat.
