A day after Churchill show’s comedian partner Sandra Dancha posted on her Instagram page that Nairobi West Hospital had refused collateral and detained Akuku Danger over ksh 823,000 medical bill, the comedian has pleaded with Kenyans and well wishers to help him clear his medical bill.

Sharing the information via his Instagram page , Akuku Danger wrote

,’ I never asked to be in this position, half of this year has been months of hospital admissions due to sickle cell anaemia which has drained me both mentally, financially and even physically and that’s why I come to you guys seeking help.”

The comedian who has been in and out of hospital was discharged yesterday but the hospital detained him according to a post by his girlfriend Sandra Dancha who took to Instagram to announce the news.

Sandra stated that the bill acrrued to ksh 823,000 even when the insurance and cash deposits were deducted. The hospital bill , according to Sandra refused to accept collateral yet their collateral from the January bill is higher than the higher bill.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder. That means it is passed down from a parent’s genes. It causes the body to make abnormal hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to all parts of your body. When an individual has SCD, the body’s tissues and organs don’t get enough oxygen.

Healthy red blood cells are round and move easily all over the body. With SCD, the red blood cells are hard and sticky. They are shaped like the letter C (and like a farm tool called a sickle). These damaged red blood cells (sickle cells) clump together. They can’t move easily through the blood vessels. They get stuck in small blood vessels and block blood flow. This blockage stops the movement of healthy oxygen-rich blood. This blockage can cause pain. It can also damage major organs.

Akuku Danger was born with Sickle Cell and has been struggling with it till date.

The comedian asked Kenyans for help adding

,”its been challenging but I’m hanging in there. Msichoke na mimi. For any financial assistance kindly use the paybill number :8024409 account name : AKUKU MEDICAL FUND.”

We wish him a speedy recovery.
