Former Churchill show comedian Akuku Danger, who has been on and off hospital has been allegedly detained by Nairobi West Hospital over a pending bill, this is a according to her partner Sandra Dancha.
“The hospital has refused to accept collateral so that he can organize his finances from outside despite having Their collateral from the January bill which has a higher value than the total bill.’
Sandra stated
During the new year’s eve show at garden city mall , Daniel Ndambuki Alias Churchill revealed to the audience details of Akuku Danger’s illness stating
,”Akuku Danger was born with Sickle Cell Anemia and it keeps coming and going. That’s cancer of the blood and he is always in and out of the hospital. Being able to come here and entertain you is what has kept him going.’
After Akuku and Sandra celebrated his birthday in which the comedian turned 32 , a day later Sandra took to her Instagram page saying that Akuku Had been re admitted once again this was on the 8th of June this year . It has been barely two weeks at hospital and his medical bill has accumulated so much.
Earlier In January Akuku had been admitted and later discharged from hospital.
Sickle cell anemia is one of a group of disorders known as sickle cell disease. It is an inherited red blood cell disorder in which there aren’t enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout your body.
In someone who has Sickle Cell Disease the hemoglobin is abnormal, which causes the red blood cells to become hard and sticky and look like a C-shaped farm tool called a “sickle.” The sickle cells die early, which causes a constant shortage of red blood cells. Also, when they travel through small blood vessels, they get stuck and clog the blood flow. This can cause pain and other serious complications (health problems) such as infection, acute chest syndrome and stroke.
Sandra Dancha has also been very instrumental and supportive to Akuku even pleading with Kenyans to support the comedian financially. She also spearheaded the contributions that saw Kenyan celebrities and fans contribute for Akuku’s medical bill.
The medical bill has accumulated to ksh 823,000 for the two weeks Akuku Danger has been admitted.
