Deputy president and Kenya kwanza boss William Ruto has announced that he will offer a free feeding program for all public primary schools once elected as the next president of Kenya.
While speaking at Mukarara Primary school in the Waithaka area, Nairobi, Ruto said that the Kenya kwanza government will cater for the feeding project in all public schools.
Initially, Sakaja had proposed a free feeding program for over 200 public schools within the city of Nairobi if elected as the next governor of Nairobi County.
About last year Sakaja had tabled a bill that will force the government to provide quality low cost meals to all pupils.
Sakaja revealed that he saddened by the number of pupils who could not afford meals at home and as a result affecting their concentration in class negatively.
When children tell you they want such a basic need as lunch instead of other leisure items, you understand that the situation is dire, he said.
