Don’t Touch the Price of Mutura, Kenyans Warn KRA Amidst the Increase of Sausages Price

by Chief Okuzo

Due to double taxes, Kenyans would pay extra for sausages and smokies. This is because the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) began collecting both landing fees and surcharge on the goods.

As per Geroge Omari, Farmers’ Choice procurement manager, the move is based on a new order that mandates the tax authority gather taxes on behalf of Nairobi County.
Initially, consumers and producers were excluded from paying tax on farm animals which had already been purchased.

However, the business asserts that negotiations with the county government are underway to see the way forward.

However, some Kenyans have responded amusingly on social media, claiming that the increased price of smokies is inconsequential and that they would be shook only if KRA touches Mutura.
